A New Storytelling Framework and a Smoother Way Back In

We built the first milestones of a new motion-comic player, improved the returning-player login experience, and moved shared account and forum work forward. We also made the story artwork lighter to load.

A new way to tell stories

We completed the first two milestones of a new motion-comic framework. A browser-based player can now load a story package, render scenes on a canvas, and provide playback and seeking controls.

The demo uses temporary artwork while we shape the framework. The next milestone is to bring those pieces together in a polished Violet Storm scene with its planned art and audio.

A smoother return to the game

We improved the DesktopGL sign-in experience with clearer progress feedback and an option that makes returning to the game easier. The goal is to reduce friction while keeping account handling straightforward.

The community forum takes shape

We continued connecting the forum with CardBrawler accounts and moving account sign-in work forward. The main pieces are in place, and we’re checking the complete experience before calling the forum ready for a wider launch.

Lighter story artwork

We converted the motion-comic delivery images to JPEG, reducing their combined size from 10.56 MB to 2.05 MB. That’s about an 81% reduction, while keeping the original PNG artwork in the project.

These pieces give us a solid base to build on: the story player can grow into a real cinematic sequence, returning players have a smoother sign-in, and the forum is closer to becoming part of the CardBrawler community.
